Camp News Winter 2009
Staff: Board of Directors
Dwight & Joanne Martin: My wife and I have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. We are from Spring Run, PA and I serve as deacon at Burns Valley Mennonite Church.
Staff: Cooks
The cooks have the awesome opportunity to serve 2 dishes at once for each meal. One dish physical and one dish spiritual.
Staff: Secretaries
The secretaries are camp’s voice to the public. They have the opportunity to make camp the friendliest place in the state.
Staff: Maintenance & Ice Shack
Ervin and Erla manage the Ice Shack April through October. The Ice Shack has become a popular ice cream shop in town and has been beneficial in raising funds for camp.
Staff: Family Workers
The family workers are usually the first image of camp that our families see.
Staff: Chiefs
The camp counselors (chiefs) are responsible for the progress and welfare of each camper in his assigned group. They also provide care and maintenance of campsite and equipment used.
Staff: Directors and Supervisors
The director is responsible for interviewing staff applicants, conducting staff meetings, and staff training. He presides at the pre-placement and evaluation conferences for campers.
Forty Boys at the Little Stone House
Just up the road a bit from camp is a little stone house. The house is situated off the road a bit against the front of the mountain.
Thank You, Work Groups!
We have been blessed this summer with people wanting to help camp. Groups from Mt.
